Friends of the Night

As was my last post, which was 11 months ago, these photos are for another friend, who shall remain nameless. We were talking on the phone last night about a few things…but mostly about my health, which has been a rollercoaster for quite a while. We also chatted briefly about the time it actually takes to write a blog and populate it with photos.

Fish out of Water

Much of the time, I try to upload an original photo with the variations I have made to alter it, then explain each photo or what have you. Although it doesn’t sound time-consuming, it really can be. With that said, I’m going to shift gears a bit with my previous blogs……. Continue reading

Hacienda Tower - FVS 2007

Hacienda Tower - FVS 2007

This post is for a specific group of people: it is for everyone at Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs, Colorado; I graduated from FVS in….well, I graduated from there back in the dark ages sometime…it isn’t really necessary to know when I did.

It is also a means for the photography students at FVS to see what is possible in what one can “see” in a single photograph: nevermind, how I do these…it is up to you to figure them out. If you are interested in the processes, I’ll guide you along, if the need arises. Seeing what you can see now only builds towards what you will see later, not to mention the places it will take others through your eyes!

For those of you who don’t know, the building above includes living quarters, the dining hall, a communal “living room”, a gorgeous courtyard (where the photo was taken), and several private rooms, which look out into the courtyard, among other things.
The photo was taken on Reunion Weekend 2007, when I was down at the school for the Alumni Art Show, which is held every year during that weekend. Continue reading

Moonlight Mile

Moonlight Mile

My friend, Anna, has tagged me. She did this because of a mini-sorta-blog called a “meme”. A “meme” tells 6 random things about yourself and then you tag 6 other bloggers. (The  rules are below.)

While I don’t usually do this sort of thing because I look at it sort of like a “chain letter”, I’m making an exception because it is through Anna, who I respect quite a lot and consider a good friend, even though I have never actually met her. i Love her blog but I especially like her macro photography of bees and bugs, even though some of them give me the creeps!

But since this is a photo blog, I feel compelled to include pictures related to this blog as much as I can.
Like this one:

Her Ringheart is Cracked but Not Her Heart

Her Ringheart is Cracked but Not Her Heart

So, anyway, here’s how the “meme” works (in Anna’s words):

It’s time for the 6 random things “meme”.

The rules are:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

My “meme”:
